Writing, Design and Communication

Writing and design are major aspects of communication. How you present the content of your argument determines how effective you are at expressing your point. Certain types of presentations lend themselves to certain topics. The writing as a form of communication can simply not effectively portray the thoughts of the reader. Often times if writing is accompanied by images, videos or other graphics that add another level of perspective to the topic at hand, the point comes across more clearly. The graphics allow the reader to become more involve in the reading. If their mind feels that they came interact with what they are reading about their interest is peaked. An image that accompanies a well written paragraph can be the difference between having the reader skim through the work or actively read the paragraph in order to make a connection and have a better understanding of not only the image but the content associated with the image as well. In modern writing many people lose interest if their brain is not adequately stimulated or challenged throughout the piece. Interactive reading is engaging, effective, and allows the reader to make connections that they otherwise would not have even occurred to them had they not put the words and images or graphics together. The better the topic and idea of behind it can be expressed the better the communication becomes from the writer to the reader.

In class reflection

I have never used a blog before or read a blog. I have heard that they are a helpful tool and can be used for both information and an outlet of emotion. Some people use their blogs to discuss personal events and feelings, others use it to comment about current events that occur in the worlds around them. It can be useful to both the reader and the writer. A blog can help someone process certain emotions and situations as well  as inform those who read them and give incite into the author's perspective on the world. Blogs can determine what kind of person you are based on how willingly you display the intimate details of your life it is a personal blog. It can also show your interests if it is an informational blog and connect you to people with similar interests, creating personal connections. A person who blogs is someone who feels more comfortable expressing their interests and opinions through writing and behind a screen, rather than in person. It could be a sense of empowerment to be able to freely express your emotions or interests without the fear of confrontation or judgement. A blog could have a use for me. I often tend to keep my emotions bottled up and I believe it would be a good outlet for me, however I am not always comfortable sharing my opinions with others. I would be willing to attempt keeping a blog, but I am not entirely sure if I would keep it up.
